1. Who we are

Englishwithpapi ("we", "us") is the data controller for personal data collected through the Speak Like a Brit ebook and website (the "Service"). If you have questions about this notice, email us at support@whereisbillnow.com.

2. Personal data we collect

  • Account information — email address, login credentials, and (if you use Google sign-in) your name and Google profile identifier.
  • Purchase information — record of which product you bought, transaction ID, and purchase timestamp (payment card details are handled by Paddle, not by us).
  • Usage and device data — pages viewed, actions taken in the ebook, browser type, device identifiers, and IP address, used for security and product improvement.
  • Support messages — anything you send us when you contact us.

3. Why we use it and legal basis

  • Providing the Service (contract): creating your account, granting access to purchased content, keeping the app working.
  • Payments and invoicing (contract / legal obligation): sharing your email and purchase context with Paddle so they can process the sale.
  • Security and fraud prevention (legitimate interests): detecting abuse, protecting accounts.
  • Product improvement (legitimate interests): understanding how the ebook is used and improving it.
  • Support (contract / legitimate interests): answering your questions.
  • Marketing (consent, where required): only if you opt in.

4. Who we share data with

We share personal data only with the following categories of recipients:

  • Paddle — our Merchant of Record. Paddle receives your email and purchase context to process payments, manage subscriptions, handle refunds, and meet tax and invoicing obligations. See Paddle's privacy notice.
  • Hosting and infrastructure providers that store data and run the Service on our behalf.
  • Google — if you choose Google sign-in, we exchange authentication data with Google.
  • Professional advisers (legal, accounting) where necessary.
  • Authorities where required by law.

5. How long we keep it

We keep account and purchase data for as long as your account exists and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations. We delete or anonymise data when it is no longer needed for the purposes above.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, email support@whereisbillnow.com. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

7. International transfers

Our providers may process personal data outside your country. Where required, we rely on lawful transfer mechanisms such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions to protect your data.

8. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures — including encryption in transit, access controls, and hardened authentication — to protect personal data. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

9. Cookies

We use essential cookies and similar technologies needed to keep you signed in and to run the Service. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. Any analytics cookies, if used, are limited to understanding aggregate product usage. You can manage cookies through your browser settings.
